A Kurzweil stage piano has an interesting history. Ray Kurzweil the founder of Kurzweil Music Systems earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer science and literature in 1970 from the world renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This entrepreneur had already created and sold his first company by the time he was 20 years of age. Kurzweil Music Systems started life in 1984 after a meeting with the legendary Stevie Wonder, when Ray decided that they was a need for a new generation of electronic keyboards/synths. The company has since been sold onto Korean based entity Young Chang in 1990, but the legacy of quality instruments has lived on.
SP4-7 Kurzweil Stage Piano
This is the updated version of the legacy SP76 which has been a best seller for many years. It is a very affordable options and of course is portable due to its lightweight. It has many of the features of the SP3 series, which makes this a great entry kurzweil stage piano.
SP2XS Kurzweil Stage Piano
The SPXS is very similar to the SP2X stage piano, however it has built in 20W stereo sound speakers. It also comes with a stand.
